Our Mission
The Society for Underprivileged Women and Children aims to promote activities that generate income in order to build self-employment autonomy, financial capacity, sustainability, reproductive health, women rights, skill development training, child education.


Our Vision
- To provide non-formal education to women and children chiefly from the deprived section of our society.
- To promote literacy among illiterate and vulnerable women who are slum dwellers residing in urban areas and for women from rural areas or villages.
- To champion the cause of adoption and care for orphan and semi-orphaned children while protecting their right to basic shelter, health, food and education.
- To conduct vocational training and counseling for women to generate employment opportunities.
- To generate opportunities for income among unemployed women.
- To work on gender issues and welfare issues for women and children.
- To provide awareness to the women and children on environmental issues.
- To create awareness among women about their justice issues, legal rights, advocacy etc.
- To promote communal harmony and sisterhood in society.
Projects (Past & Ongoing)
- The Crèche Programme run by PWCWS provides non-formal education, midday meals and supervised daycare to children in Bundelkhand, India.
- Naritaav also runs basic medical camps that provide checkups to the rural population for diseases such as HIV and runs medical surveys for the same. It ensures constant monitoring of the quality improvement efforts for the rural population.
- Naritaav organises programmes aimed at developing important local-based skills for economically backward women such as pickle-making, candle-making, tailoring, soap-making, bio-fuel making from time to time. The women gain skills on how to run and own a small business ventures to sustain themselves economically and market viable.
- Naritaav organises volunteer training programs that aim to sensitize rural and urban youth on social justice issues and offers volunteers a chance to engage with community work designed to build a better life for underprivileged women and children, such as working in community food kitchens that provide subsidized food to rural workers.
- Naritaav is also interested in the causes related to child welfare such as adoption or prevention of child abuse.
- Naritaav successfully partnered with a team to direct the short film, ‘Vatsala’ which raises awareness about child adoption through a thoughtful story. The film was distributed at a grassroots level and was crucial in bringing attention to the situation of child adoption in India.
- Naritaav has also organised conferences which centre upon round table discussions on the situation of child abuse and trafficking in India. Naritaav is committed to bettering the lives of children and has played a significant role in hosting discussions and events focused on crucial child welfare issues.
